Red Mountain is one of the newest 18 hole golf courses in South East Asia, this par 72 course designed by golfing architect Johnathan Morrow measures some 6781 yards and was opened in 2007.

Located in the Red Mountains, just outside Phuket you only have a short journey to reach this exciting course. They have a state of the art clubhouse, fitted out in an exciting modern style offering pro-shop, spacious locker rooms and a terrace restaurant over looking the course.

When Jonathan Morrow designed the Red Mountain course he made excellent use of the old disused tin mine around which this course is built. This gives the course a curious and enchanting feel to it, rapid changes in elevation and strangely shaped rock formations all reminders of the courses industrial past.

Despite being a very young course it does have an old feel to it. Existing trees have been incorporated into the landscape and with views of the mountains and Phuket below you know you are playing in a magical environment.

You will be playing through narrow gorges, dripping with foliage, carefully managed water channels and lakes and around sheer cliff faces. Located on one of the islands high points panoramic views of the surrounding landscape are present from any vantage point.

The fairways are grassed with Paspalum, while Bermuda grass is used greens. Red Mountain has a broad mix of large flat forgiving greens and small irregular ones, although care is required on all as they do tend to run fast. 

The short par 3 at the ninth is the courses signature hole. What makes this hole difficult is the 150 foot drop from the tee into a wooded glade which requires accuracy and restraint to avoid a walk in the woods looking for your ball.
